Nearer is a work inspired by the poem of the same title by C.S. Lewis. I was specifically inspired by the first two lines of the poem, depicting simple imagery of braving our fears. What I love about the text is that it Lewis does not tell you to stand in the fire, or brave the depths of the water, but to get near it, to dip a toe in.  Lewis reminds us that in order for us to find joy, we must get close to the things in life that bring it to us.
